What Are Our Financial Resources & How Do We Use Them?

This track will focus on assisting a tribe to recognize their current resources that are available and can be utilized for securing financing for prospective projects. Focusing creative finance options, specifically New Market Tax Credits, CDFI, and learn how to find the financial resources without having to invest actual dollars from their tribal funds. The attendees will learn how to monetize current resources along with searching for and identifying sources to search for funding and for projects that can be brought to their community. It is a “win, win” situation for all parties; in which the investor and business developer also reap the benefits of dealing with a sovereign nation opposed to dealing with State governments. Along with, tax breaks, cheaper rates, access to land, water, and natural resources, along with the tribe’s ability to create additional tribal incentives.
